At the time of writing, National lockdown<\/a> restrictions are in place across England to control the spread of coronavirus, so we want to give you some guidance on visiting Exmoor.<\/p>\n

Can you visit Exmoor National Park?<\/h3>\n

The restrictions state:<\/p>\n

\u2018It is against the law to meet socially with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble. You can only leave your home to exercise, and not for the purpose of recreation or leisure (e.g. a picnic or a social meeting). This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.\u2019<\/p>\n

What is open on Exmoor?<\/h3>\n

If you’re visiting Exmoor, footpaths and bridleways will remain open and maintained as usual. If you fit the permitted lockdown allowances to exercise here then come and enjoy the green space! Just remember to be respectful of the park and it’s inhabitants, two-legged and four!<\/p>\n

Are car parks and public toilets open on Exmoor?<\/h3>\n

Toilets and car parks that are run by the Exmoor National Park Authority will remain open. Remember not all facilities across Exmoor are run by the ENPA – check before heading out.<\/p>\n

Extra precautions have been made by the ENPA to help reduce the spread of covid-19. This includes enhanced daily cleaning of toilets, one way systems and hand sanitiser dispensers.<\/p>\n

Are cafes, restaurants and shops open?<\/h3>\n

Shops and places to eat and drink are under the same restrictions as elsewhere nationally.<\/p>\n

Can you book self-catering accommodation on Exmoor?<\/h3>\n

At the time of writing, National lockdown applies until the 12th of April 2021. From this date, single households are permitted to travel for overnight stays in self-catering accommodation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beyond the 17th May, restrictions lift further (allowing two households, or a maximum of 6 people from various households.)<\/p>\n
