The region
+ MoreThe Folly is set on the western edge of Exmoor National Park within walking distance of the village of Bratton Fleming with which has a Village Store, Post Office, garage workshop and 2 churches. The larger town of Barnstaple is approx 8 miles, here you will find supermarkets and... a variety of other shops. There are many charming village pubs and restaurants to explore. The Fox & Goose at Parracombe and The Black Venus at Challacombe are particularly recommended. Local area The Folly is part of Bratton Mill, which is set 28 tranquil acres of garden, woodland and undulating pastureland. This secluded wooded valley is rich with wildlife – red deer, buzzards, you may even catch a glimpse of a flash of the kingfisher, conferences of dragonflies and occasionally an otter or stoat. Enjoying riverside strolls or circular walks through outstanding countryside from the front door is a must. The Folly is also close to the dramatic North Devon coast with beautiful sandy beaches and towering cliffs, the South West Coastal Path. RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Gardens, Arlington Court, Clovelly and Hartland Abbey are within comfortable driving distance.
