The Cottage, Catford House is a charming one bedroom traditional character cottage, set in a quiet rural location. The bed is king-size double, which can be made up as a twin on request. The cottage has recently been completely refurbished throughout and we are delighted to offer it for holidays.
The Cottage, Catford House, is well suited for couples looking for a quiet get away and wanting to explore Exmoor. The property is attached to the main house next door, where the owners live, but benefits from a private entrance, drive and private parking. The Cottage has a secure lawn garden and a courtyard complete with table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining. Guests will be welcomed with a hospitality pack of a bottle of sparkling wine, homemade scones with Cornish clotted cream and local jam. In the kitchen you will find tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper to get your holiday off to a good start - we would ask that you replenish what you use. A pint of milk will be in the fridge. The Cottage at Catford House has an entrance porch/lobby with storage, coat hooks and space for muddy boots. The open-plan living and dining room has a NEW two seated leather reclining sofa, and one comfortable single chair. The inglenook fireplace has a NEW Wood Warm Log burner (one basket of logs provided, along with kindling, firelighters and matches). A NEW electric radiator provides the back ground heating for the living and dining area. There is a smart TV and an excellent fibre broadband connection. Conveniently close to the dining area the recently refurbished and fully equipped kitchen has electric hob and oven, a new built in fridge with freezer compartment, and a Bosch dishwasher. Stairs from the ground floor lead up to the large open plan, double aspect bedroom, tastefully furnished, with a super king size double bed, which can be made up as two single beds on request (please make this request at the time of booking, or at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date. There are bedside drawers, a chest of drawers, blanket box and a walk in wardrobe. There are two new electric radiators. The en-suite shower room, comprises an electric shower, a recently installed heated towel rail, low level WC and wash basin with electric light and shaver point over. All recently decorated and refurbished. Bed linen and towels are provided, please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take them on day trip with you away from the cottage. Electricity, one basket of logs and wifi is included in the price of your accommodation.

The Cottage at Catford House benefits from a private drive leading to ample parking next to a large south facing lawn area of garden with outstanding views. Steps lead down from the parking area to a secluded courtyard patio area in front of the cottage. Table and chairs are provided for al fresco dining. Storage is available for bikes in one of the farms outbuildings.
We welcome a well behaved, house trained dog, that is wormed as we are a sheep farm. Please DO NOT ALLOW dog upstairs. Please DO NOT ALLOW dog on furniture. Please do not leave your dog unattended in The Cottage. No puppies under a year.

The region
+ MoreThe Cottage at Catford House is in the Brendon Hills close to two reservoirs, Clatworthy and Wimbleball. This area is ideal for walking, fishing and water sports and just outside the boundary of the beautiful Exmoor National Park. The lovely towns of Dunster and Dulverton nearby.... Wiveliscombe only 10 minutes for provisions, having an excellent butchers, deli and supermarkets. The North Coast is 30 minutes away and the South Coast just over an hour away.
In the area there are a number of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, especially in the towns of Dulverton, Bampton and Wiveliscombe. There are a good range of shops in Wiveliscombe with an excellent butcher, delicatessen and two supermarkets. There is also a farmers market on Saturday in Wiveliscombe. The fish monger visits Dulverton on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Wiveliscombe on Saturdays.
There's a multitude of activities to keep you entertained in this area, including: Walking Horse Riding Fishing Shooting Hunting Water sports – Swimming Pool in Wiveliscombe, beaches on the coast and at Wimbleball Lake Tennis in Wiveliscombe Surfing on the North Devon Coast Golf Shopping in county towns of Exeter and Taunton
Some of the best walking country is close by on Exmoor. The cottage is well situated between the North and South Coasts of the West Country with some of the best beaches in the country.
