Challacombe is a small village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, just inside the Devon boundary. The village has a small general shop/Post Office and a pub, the Black Venus which serves great food. The village is on the B3358 road, it's 5 miles west of Simonsbath, and 9 miles south east of the coast at Combe Martin. The village name was recorded as Celdecomba in the Domesday Book.
