Cottage in a North Devon valley. Luxury stay with indoor pool, play area, and animals. Aylesbury Cottage: 4 guests, 4-star gold, cosy and modern, king-size bed, twin, private lawned area, and amenities. Perfect retreat.
This is a delightful detached stone cottage positioned in front of a triangular courtyard, alongside two other cottages and the swimming pool building. On the ground floor, you'll find a cosy sitting/dining area with a wood-burning stove, a Bluetooth music system, and a Smart TV. A few steps lead up to the well-equipped kitchen, complete with a full range of kitchen units and an original slate floor. A quaint winding staircase takes you to the landing, where two bedrooms are located—one with a king-size four-poster bed and the other with two single beds. The bathroom is equipped with a bath, shower, toilet, and washbasin. Peacock Cottage boasts its own private lawn area, featuring a patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. For larger groups, you have the option to combine our smaller cottages, being Aylesbury Cottage and Bantam Cottage, accommodating up to 10 guests. Additionally, dining arrangements can be organized in Aylesbury Cottage, allowing for group meals. Peacock Cottage can also be rented as a 1-bedroom cottage, with a £100 discount applied for 7-night bookings and a £50 discount for shorter breaks. Simply select "bank transfer" and specify the discount request in the notes during booking. We ask guests for a security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card of £250.00. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released after your stay if there is no damage. The owner will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

The region
+ MoreThe cottage enjoys an ideal location in the picturesque Devonshire countryside, offering breath-taking views over a privately owned valley within Exmoor's Heritage Coast. While it might be difficult to depart from the estates charm, there's a wealth of nearby attractions and acti...vities to explore. Our luxurious cottages offer convenient access to the dramatic North Devon coastline, which includes the highest cliffs in England and reputedly the nation's finest beach. Additionally, the region's renowned landmarks and stunning natural landscapes are all within easy reach.
Discover nearby pubs, like the renowned The Pyne Arms, where you can savor moules marinieres or a charcuterie platter. Alternatively, head to The Pack O’ Cards for a classic carvery experience. Treat yourself to the exceptional culinary offerings at Kentisbury Grange, where locally inspired seasonal dishes await. Or, for a delightful snack, relish clotted-cream scones from The Galleon Café or enjoy fresh fish and chips from The Black and Whites.
Apart from all of the glorious beaches, there are also family friendly things to do, including a visit to Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Watermouth castle, horse riding, coasteering, surfing, sea safari's and so much more!
Just a mile away, the closest beach to us is the tranquil Combe Martin bay, ideal for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and it's a favourite spot for seals and dolphins, providing a memorable water sports experience. During high tide, the beach features pebbly sand, but as the tide recedes, it unveils a sandy shoreline and some of the finest rock pools along the entire coast! You can rent boards and kayaks in the village from Surf Side, a business consistently recognized with a certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor. They also organize guided kayaking tours for your enjoyment. With a number of beaches in between, we are conveniently situated just a short twenty-minute drive from what has been acclaimed as the "Best Beach in Britain." Not only did Woolacombe Beach secure the 13th spot on the global list, surpassing renowned coastlines in Turkey, Florida, and Costa Rica, but it also ranked fourth in Europe and claimed the number one position in the UK! A recent review perfectly captured the essence of Woolacombe, describing it as "Three miles of heaven.
