The peaceful studio is set within a lovely woodland garden with far-reaching views over North Hill, Grabbist Hill, Minehead Bay and west towards Selworthy. The Pavilion is set in an elevated position and our guests are welcome to use it as an extension of the studio. Crockery and cutlery are available with which to enjoy a takeaway or one of our sharing platters of charcuterie, baked camembert, home made hummus, olives and sourdough, (please order in advance £25.00). There are delightful walks from the door for all abilities ranging from a walk into town (pubs, shops, restaurants and the beach), to North Hill and the South West Coastal Path, to Porlock and Porlock Weir via Selworthy, Allerford and Bossington. A bus service will return you to the end of our lane if a one way walk is far enough.
Please don't leave your pets unaccompanied in the studio or allow them on the furniture. They will be welcome to join you in the conservatory and the pavilion.

The region
+ MoreA lovely area sandwiched between the beautiful Exmoor National Park (just over the garden fence) and Minehead with the benefits of outdoor and wildlife pursuits yet convenient for all facilities. Situated mid-way between Porlock and Dunster and the start of the South West Coas...tal Path. Minehead is a lovely seaside town that also sits on the edge of Exmoor National Park. If walking is your passion, there is no better place to be. Not only do you have Exmoor stretching out before you with its magnificent views, wildlife and cosy pubs. It's also the terminus for West Somerset Railway, the longest heritage railway in Britain.
There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants in Minehead which are within a 20 minute walk. A short drive to Dunster (with it's famous castle) or Porlock and Porlock Weir with a great selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes. Your hosts can produce sharing platters of charcuterie, baked camembert, home made hummus, olives and sourdough each evening (please order at breakfast time) for £25.00.
Walking on Exmoor for all abilities, or take the Exmoor Coaster open topped bus for the easier option. This can be caught from the bottom of our lane and will take you up the infamous Porlock Hill and over the moors (with fantastic coastal views) into Devon and Lynmouth. Horse riding, cycling and fishing can all be arranged. With it's low light pollution (and being Europe's first Dark Sky reserve), it is a wonderful location for studying the stars. If steam railways are of interest then take the longest heritage railway in the country to Bishops Lydeard.
Minehead beach is a 25 minute walk from here. Off road walking onto the Coastal Path. Walk to Selworthy, Allerford, Bossington and Porlock through wooded valleys and catch the bus back (dogs travel free). A short drive takes you to Horner Woods, an amazing ancient woodland with well signposted paths and riverside walks. The nearby Dunkery Beacon offers open moorland and as the highest point on Exmoor one can see over to Dartmoor, Bodmin moor, the Welsh coast and the Quantocks. This is a brilliant place to spot our red deer herds of up to 100 head at times.
