Jasmine Cottage, Porlock (Somerset) is a pretty period end-of-terrace cottage, located on the edge of this popular Exmoor village, tucked into the lower slopes of Porlock Hill. It has three bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 guests, and is pet-friendly. Pubs, shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Jasmine Cottage in Porlock is a stone and brick built cottage, built around the turn of the last century and has since been extended to include an open-plan kitchen/ dining room with doors to the rear patio garden. It's just a short distance on foot into the village, with lovely coastal views. Porlock Weir harbour and pebble beach is approx a mile away. Through to the dining area, there is also a wood-burner here, and the open-plan kitchen extension beyond. The former cupboard under the stairs is now converted into a ground floor toilet with hand basin. At the far end of the kitchen double doors open into the terraced patio-style courtyard garden. Stairs lead from the dining room up to the first floor where the three bedrooms are, one of the double bedrooms has a vaulted ceiling and an en-suite bathroom (comprising, bath, toilet and hand basin). There is a second double bedroom and one bedroom with bunk beds. The family shower room has a large walk-in shower, toilet and hand basin. Dogs are welcome but not permitted to get onto the furniture or to go upstairs at all. Dogs are charged at £20 per dog per stay.

The kitchen is newly fitted and well equipped including an electric range cooker with oven and 5 hobs, dishwasher, freestanding fridge-freezer, microwave, and washing machine. Other items include toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. There is a travel cot if required, high chair and stair gates provided in the cottage (please bring your own bedding for the cot). A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The cottage has oil-fired central heating, and a basket of logs and kindling will be provided for the wood-burner in the cooler months. Bed linen, duvets, and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. There may be non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/powder, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet and hand wash.

From the parking space, a garden gate opens into the front garden which is enclosed by a low stone wall and has a lawned area. A paved pathway at the side of the property gives access to the rear patio-garden area, which has been landscaped with paved terraces. It's a short walk into the village where you'll find local pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.

+ MorePorlock is a popular Exmoor village with a thriving community and a range of local shops, including chemist, village shop plus mini-supermarket and traditional local butcher together with a Church and village hall, primary school, plus pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and other indep...endent shops. The quaint harbour and hamlet of Porlock Weir is approximately 1.5 miles, and well worth a visit. A short drive or a nice coastal or woodland walk will get you there.
