Mulberry Cottage, Porlock (Somerset) is ideally placed for a country or seaside holiday in this lovely Exmoor village, it's less than a mile from the coast in Porlock and also close to Minehead, within Exmoor National Park. The cottage sleeps up to 4 guests in two bedrooms.
Mulberry Cottage, Porlock (Somerset) dates back to the 19th Century, it's one of an attractive row of cottages, tucked away in the heart of the village in a quiet spot off Porlock's High Street with shops and pubs within walking distance. The cottage enjoys a peaceful position away from passing traffic and has views up to the surrounding Exmoor hills, as well as glimpses of St Dubricius, a historic church dating back to the 13th Century. Traditionally furnished, the cottage is a cosy retreat from which to explore Exmoor's many attractions. The accommodation comprises: Cosy sitting room with a traditional welcoming feel including comfy seating, DVD/CD player and television. Kitchen with dining table and chairs, microwave, fridge/freezer and cooker. There is a stove set in the fireplace which adds to the charm but please note that this is not working. Utility area with washing machine - a great place for drying outdoor gear. There is also a rotary washing line available for summer months. Cloakroom with WC on the ground floor. Boot rack and wire brushes for muddy boots! Cushions and parasol available for patio furniture. Upstairs: Double bedroom and twin bedroom with two single beds - both rooms have wardrobes and drawers for clothes storage. Family bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and washbasin. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The cottage is fitted with storage heaters throughout the cottage, with an electric fire in the lounge. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. An arrival refreshment gift will await you along with up to date information to enhance your stay in Porlock. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and cloths will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided.

The cottage has a pretty patio garden with outdoor furniture - the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day! It is not possible to drive to the cottage as it is approached via a footpath. Parking is included in the price of the stay and is situated in a nearby private car park.

The region
+ MorePorlock village offers an excellent range of amenities, allowing you to enjoy your holiday without the need to keep getting in the car. There are shops for provisions, pubs for a meal out, a Visitors Centre brimming with information to help you plan your holiday and also Dovery M...anor Museum, a free attraction where you can learn about the history and culture of the village. There is also a great playground where little ones can let off steam. Lace up your walking boots and explore miles of wonderful footpaths straight from the front door, taking you across the rugged Exmoor moorland, beside Hawkcombe stream or along the South West Coastal Path which is accessible from Porlock Bay. Walk to the pretty nearby fishing village of Porlock Weir and along Porlock Bay with salt marshes attracting an abundance of birdlife (on a fine day the views stretch as far as Wales!). For those who want to explore the wider area, Minehead is only a short car ride away (approximately five miles), as is Dunster with its magnificent castle. In the opposite direction just over the Devon border, yet only twelve miles away are Lynton and Lynmouth which are joined by a cliff-top railway, or discover the beauty of the moor by horseback or Land Rover Safari - the choices are endless.
You will be spoilt for choice eating out in Porlock. There are beautiful tea rooms, with delicious cream teas. The village also has three pubs each offering a different experience of the village. There is a local fish and chip restaurant that also offers a fantastic take away service.
