Porlock Hideaway is a lovely ground floor holiday apartment, situated in the heart of Porlock. This property offers comfortable and modern accommodation and is set in the quiet and characteristic building of the Old Tannery
Porlock Hideaway is a cosy one bedroom apartment, ideal for couples looking for somewhere in a village setting yet still private and tucked away from the main thoroughfare. From a small courtyard, two external steps lead up to the front door into the main living room; an open-plan kitchen with dining table and comfortable seating area. The windows look out onto a grassed area behind the cottage. The bedroom has a double bed and TV. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and has recently been refitted with a spacious shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet. Appliances and equipment Porlock Hideaway kitchen is fitted with an electric oven with hob, microwave and fridge. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware and kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A television (with Freeview) and DVD player is provided in the living room. Wireless broadband is available throughout the property. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The property has electric panel heating and an additional convection heater in the lounge for those cooler months. Bed linen, duvets, pillows, blankets towels and a hair dryer are provided, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like salt, pepper, oil and a few herbs or spices available. Basic cleaning materials, tea-towels, toilet roll and hand wash will also be provided. Porlock Hideaway has an allocated parking space situated a short distance across the shared Old Tannery courtyard. Porlock Hideaway is strictly pet free. Smoking is not permitted in the property. Local amenities Porlock is a wonderful working Exmoor village and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, petrol station, hardware shop, visitor centre, several art galleries and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Porlock Weir is approximately 1.5 miles from Porlock and is well worth a visit. There are two restaurants (The Cafe and Miller's at the Anchor), a pub and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass and Studio 7 (imported beautiful textiles). Many of the shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season. Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 6 miles from Porlock. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town. Arrival and departure The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests. Changeover days Porlock Hideaway is available for week-long bookings and short breaks.
