+ MorePebble Lodge is a mile from the harbour town of Watchet. There are easy walks along the West Somerset Railway to reach the sandy beach at Blue Anchor and Watchet Harbour. Watchet is full of independent shops, cages and restaurants. Plus it is home not not just 1, but 2 beaches.... Watchet is a picturesque town nestled on the West Somerset coastline; with Exmoor to the East, the Brendon Hills to the South and the Quantocks to the West, it is a great spot for exploring. Watchet is a small but friendly town which packs a lot in. It has an active Marina, Steam train station, Old Port, museums, shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways! From Easter onwards there is a weekly Wednesday market and every first Sunday of the month, there is an eclectic crafts, artisan and food market. For Anglersthere are sea fishing trips that head out from the Marina, just enquire at The Marina office. Watchet is a great place for the bargain hunters amongst you. There is an Antiques shop at one end of the town and upstairs in the Marina is 'Rogers', a fascinating Aladdins cave of collectables as is the Smugglers. There are many walks, along the Mineral Line, up and around the Church and along the rope walk, across to Doniford Beach. Or if you prefer to people watch, you can just sit and take in the charm of the Esplanade and the Marina.
