The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, hob and fridge. Other kitchen items include a microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, Nespresso and a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. The living room has a smart TV and wifi is available throughout the property. An iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience and some board games for your entertainment. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Bed linen, duvets, and towels are provided for your convenience. Please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Non- perishable items like a salt, pepper, cooking oil, and a few herbs or spices are available. Milk is provided on arrival. There is a hairdryer in the bedroom and some books for a rainy day.

Guests have exclusive use of their own terrace with patio furniture and umbrella. Please note it is a steep walk up the driveway and a steep set of steps to get to the property. The terrace has no gate so children will need to be supervised. The Cottage is just a ten-minute walk to Lynton, where you’ll find a selection of fantastic pubs, restaurants, and cafés. Access some of Exmoor’s most scenic walking trails with the Lynway, part of the Two Moors Way on the doorstep and close by the South West Coast Path, Tarka Trail, Coleridge Way, and Two Moors Way. Hidden rugged coves are nearby, while the famous surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton are just a 40-minute drive. The area is also well-known for wild swimming in its pristine rivers.

Steve (the owner) is an experienced chef and will be pleased to provide guests with oven ready meals (waiting in your fridge) on arrival and during their stay at The Cottage. He has a varied menu of pre prepared delights for you to enjoy on arrival which has proved popular with guests as they are often tired on arrival and do not fancy the prospect of having to explore the locality for something to eat. More information will be sent out in the welcome email with contact details to arrange this. Lynton and Lynmouth provide a great variety of good quality pubs, cafes and restaurants. Lynton and Lynmouth has long been known as “Little Switzerland” as the terrain is often steep and hilly. Very popular with experienced walkers the area offers wonderful walks and fantastic coastal and woodland views. The Valley of Rocks on the outskirts of Lynton is a geographical wonder and a must-see. Lynmouth is situated 400 feet directly below Lynton and has a picturesque harbour and fantastic views towards South Wales and Countisbury Hill. The two Towns are connected by the World famous water powered lift which is open to the public between March and October. There is always something going on in Lynton and Lynmouth, from Shanty-singing in the Ancient Mariner (Lynmouth) to organised entertainment in Lyntons famous Town Hall…….. for all events go to www.visitlyntonandlynmouth.co.uk
The Cottage at Woodlands is situated below The Lynway , a lovely pedestrian footpath accessed via a set of concrete steps adjacent to The Cottage. The Lynway also forms part of both The South West Coastal Path and The Two Moors Way. Walking is a popular pastime on Exmoor which boasts miles and miles of well signed walking paths over the Moor, along the coastline and through the abundant woodlands. In short, if you are a keen walker you will discover that once you have parked your car in our car park, you need not step in it again until you leave! Steve and Lesley (the owners who live in Woodlands) are both keen and experienced walkers and will be happy to provide information regarding walks if required to do so. There is also guest information regarding popular walks and beaches available within The Cottage.
